9th Dies Natalis of UNY Psychology: A Historic Moment Towards Establishing a New Home

Saturday, 27/04/2024 - The Psychology Study Program of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) celebrated its 9th Dies Natalis with great enthusiasm. The event began at 18:30 WIB at Abdullah Sigit Hall, Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) UNY.

The event commenced with a prayer as a form of gratitude and hope for future success. Following this, the Chairman of the UNY Psychology Student Association delivered the opening remarks, which were followed by a speech from the Head of the Psychology Department, Dr. Rosita Endang Kusmaryani, M.Si. In her speech, Dr. Rosita recounted the long struggle of UNY Psychology over the past nine years. She also explained that the Psychology Study Program is in the process of becoming an independent faculty at the Mandala Campus, a significant step that is expected to be realized in the near future.

Afterwards, the Dean of FIPP UNY, Prof. Dr. Nurtanio Agus Purwanto, M.Pd., delivered a speech, expressing full support for the establishment of the new faculty. He appreciated the dedication and spirit of the UNY Psychology community, which continues to innovate and grow.

The series of events continued with captivating arts and cultural performances. Psychology students presented a harmonious gamelan performance, followed by a drama performed by UNY Psychology lecturers. Additionally, modern dance and traditional dance performances by students enlivened the event. Theater and various other performances added to the festivity of the Dies Natalis celebration.

This event not only served as a moment of reflection on the journey that has been undertaken but also as a starting point for greater achievements in the future. The spirit of synergy and innovation continues to strengthen in UNY Psychology, bringing new hopes with each step.
