UNY PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT HOSTS THE 4TH ROUND TABLE MEETING OF THE INDONESIAN POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY ASSOCIATION

Saturday (13/01/2024) - The Department of Psychology at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) proudly hosted the fourth Round Table Meeting of the Indonesian Positive Psychology Association. The event took place over two days, specifically on January 12-13, 2024, at the UNY Hotel in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

As a commitment to organizing this event, Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati served as the Chair of the Organizing Committee, while Mrs. Dyah Kusumadhini, M.A., served as the Chair of the Steering Committee. Active participation was evident from the 61 participants who came from various regions in Indonesia. These participants included Positive Psychology course instructors and several other observers.

The event commenced with a seminar delivered by the Chair of the Indonesian Positive Psychology Association, Dr. Nurlaila Effendy, M.Psi. The seminar provided in-depth insights into the recent developments in positive psychology in Indonesia.

Following that, the event continued with a research workshop facilitated by Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, Ph.D., Psychologist, and Edwin, M.Psi., Psychologist. The workshop aimed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of research methodology in the field of positive psychology.

The main theme of this Round Table Meeting was the formation of research groups and the determination of research themes in line with the current global trends in positive psychology, adapted to the conditions in Indonesia. This is expected to enhance research contributions in the field of positive psychology.

This annual event is intended to serve as a platform for the professional development of faculty members interested in positive psychology. The organizers hope that the participation of attendees will positively contribute to the development of knowledge and the well-being of the Indonesian nation.
