Yogyakarta, 22/01/2025 – The Department of Psychology, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FIPP UNY), received an honorary visit from the Indonesian Navy's Psychology Service, led by Rear Admiral TNI Wisnu Agung Priambodo, M.M., M.Phil., Head of the Navy's Psychology Service. The event took place on the third floor of the Moh. Amien Building, FIPP UNY, and was attended by Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, M.Si., the Vice Dean of FIPP UNY, along with representatives from the Department of Psychology.
The meeting aimed to discuss an internship program for Psychology Department students at the Navy's Psychology Service in Sidoarjo. This initiative was expected to provide students with the opportunity to apply psychological knowledge in broader contexts, particularly within the scope of the Navy's psychological functions and duties.
In addition to discussing internships, Rear Admiral TNI Wisnu Agung Priambodo also presented the strategic program of the Navy's Psychology Service to realize the "Love the Sea" initiative for coastal communities. The program aimed to raise public awareness and concern for the sea as a vital resource. To implement this program, the Navy's Psychology Service planned to collaborate with various leading universities in Indonesia, including UNY, to create a synergy that benefits coastal communities.
The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs between the Navy's Psychology Service and the Department of Psychology. This event marked the beginning of a potential collaboration program, with further discussions planned for the future. Both parties expressed their hope that this initiative would generate positive impacts for students, the Navy's Psychology Service, and the wider community.
