Yogyakarta, 28/01/2024 - The Psychology UNY Alumni Meeting was held on Zoom attended by the Head of the Department of Psychology at UNY, Psychology Lecturers at UNY, and Psychology Alumni at UNY to discuss the significant developments of KAPSI (Family of Psychology Alumni at UNY).
The event was moderated by Fajar Wahyu Nugroho, S.Psi. (S1 Batch of 2015), and then opened by Wancik Ridwan Barari, S.Psi., the chairperson of KAPSI. Following the opening remarks by the KAPSI chairperson, the event proceeded with a speech by the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Rosita Endang Kusmaryani, M.Si. She delivered a brief message, emphasizing that alumni should form groups to quickly disseminate information related to the Department's interests or the careers of alumni.
In a significant development, the Postgraduate Program in Psychology at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (S2) has merged with the undergraduate program (S1) to establish the organization KAPSI (Family of Psychology Alumni at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta). This strategic step aims to strengthen the sense of community and collaboration among psychology alumni. To streamline communication, KAPSI has chosen Telegram as its primary platform and appointed administrators to share crucial links, ensuring efficient and equitable information dissemination. This move is expected to enhance communication and engagement within the alumni community.
Aligned with its commitment to alumni development, KAPSI is preparing for a comprehensive socialization campaign, establishing connections with HIMA (Student Association) and all students to assess their needs. This initiative, scheduled for February 2024, aims to understand the requirements and aspirations of current students and alumni.
Following the socialization activities, KAPSI plans to conduct specialized training sessions tailored to the identified needs within the alumni community. Preparation for the workforce is scheduled to take place by the end of April or May 2024.
Recognizing the importance of mapping alumni skills and knowledge, KAPSI intends to create a comprehensive database to better understand the diverse expertise of its members. This initiative will contribute to fostering collaboration and mentorship within the community.
In addition, KAPSI has initiated discussions on various proposed programs that will shape the organization's future activities:
1. Sharing Experience Sessions: Alumni will engage in sessions to share their experiences with HIMA and psychology students at UNY.
2. Career Development Program: KAPSI plans to organize career mentoring, share work practices, and relevant workshops to meet the specific needs of psychology students.
3. Grand Alumni Reunion: A grand reunion, named "TEMU ALUMNI AKBAR 10 TAHUN PSIKOLOGI," is in the works for 2025, providing a platform for alumni to reunite and celebrate a decade of achievements in the field.
4. Practitioner Teaching Program: KAPSI envisions a program where alumni with practical experience in psychology contribute to teaching at the university.
These initiatives mark a significant step towards creating a dynamic and supportive network for psychology alumni, reinforcing KAPSI UNY's commitment to empower its members personally and professionally.
